Knowledge Exchange
Knowledge exchange is a core pillar of the ASCENT program, designed to help countries accelerate progress by learning directly from each other’s experiences. Through regional collaboration, countries share what has worked, what challenges remain, and how digital tools can improve planning, tracking, and delivery of energy-access programs. This cross-country learning approach strengthens harmonization and helps ASCENT participants advance more quickly toward universal electrification.
Why Knowledge Exchange Matters
By enabling structured peer learning, ASCENT helps governments adopt best practices, avoid common implementation bottlenecks, and scale effective solutions. Knowledge exchange supports faster rollout of national electrification strategies, aligns countries around interoperable digital systems, and strengthens institutions working across grid, DRE, clean cooking, and carbon-market readiness.
How ASCENT Delivers Knowledge Exchange
ASCENT provides a range of learning platforms for governments, PIUs, utilities, regional bodies, and private-sector actors:
Flagship Events
- ASCENT Week
Regional convening for deep-dive learning, progress sharing, and coordinated planning.
Webinars & Trainings
- Thematic webinars on digital MRV, gender integration, carbon markets, and DRE solutions
- Technical trainings and skills-building workshops
- Peer-learning sessions to exchange lessons and challenges
Shared Resources
- Blogs, technical notes, and guidance materials
- Case studies and country experience summaries
- Newsletter highlights featuring best practices and innovations
As ASCENT expands, these resources will form a regional knowledge base for practitioners.
Impact
Together, these activities build a regional learning ecosystem where countries gain the insights, tools, and skills needed to implement ASCENT faster and more effectively. By connecting practitioners across borders, ASCENT supports better decision-making, stronger coordination, and more resilient energy-access programs.
